Ocean Beach, East Coast/Hawkes Bay
Ocean Beach is one of the most popular and beautiful beaches in New Zealand. White sand and a rolling surf appeal to booggie riders, surfers and sun seeking families. It is a patrolled beach and during the summer months the number of beach goers are in the thousands.
Accommodation? Gary and Christine welcome you to "Loafers Paradise", situated 3 km from Ocean Beach with the very popular Maraetotara River running through it. The Maraetotara River is suitable for swimming and brown trout abound. The Falconer's have a boat which is available to guests to use. For the last five years Gary and Christine have been renting out holiday villas to holidaymakers from all over the country. Gary is kept busy during the holiday season taking guests out in his boat to lift cray nets and pots - there is no charge for this and guests get to enjoy a meal of fish and crayfish. Even grandmothers have been known to seek him out for a boatride! We are situated on 7 acres of flat land and you can take walks, play cricket, practice golf, or just enjoy the scenery. |
On our property we have four two bedroom villas, each have two bedrooms, TV, microwave, fridge freezer, stereo, a washing machine, etc. Each unit has its own gas BBQ. The villas are separate from each other, very private and set in an attractive garden with lots of lawn - ideal for children to play on, and for relaxing with a glass of local Hawkes Bay wine. What are some of the popular activities with holidaymakers? Hawkes Bay is well known for its wines and orchards.
There are many wineries you can visit and Christine, who has been in the wine industry for 13 years, has a 7 seater bus which is used for winery tours. Craggy Range and Te Mata Estate are visitied. These are a great experience and an ideal way to meet locals. The Gannett Safaries are also a very popular destination for quests. They can also visit the very famous Cape Kidnappers golf course. We have a chocolate factory, olives, Te Mata Cheese factory and cafe, Arataki honey. There are 17 heritage trails in the area to walk or self-drive. Napier's Marine Parade is also a great place to visit, with the hot salt pools at Ocean Spa. |
Most popular purchase for your holiday homes? Probably our most popular purchase would have to be the Gas BBQs. Holidaymakers love to BBQ meat and fish!
Is it a child friendly place? Loafers Paradise is down a long drive away from the main road, so guests have no fear of their children with traffc - it is a very peaceful place. What do guests say? Since opening we have been overwhelmed with how popular the villas are - we have many repeat bookings. Guests have met new friends while staying here and all get together and make bookings for the next holiday together! This is not a camping ground - we are very small but very friendly.
