We loved our stay in the Black house and your facilities are all first class, the two kayaks you left for us were just perfect for our two younger grandchildren 4&5yrs, by day 3 they were
Into it and off, considering on afternoon of day one, we had trouble getting them into the water let alone the kayak,,, but we were all surprised yesterday afternoon when they organised
Themselves into life jackets and the wee kayaks, we all sat in disbelief, 😊
The London family just loved it and return home next week with lots of exciting stories and pictures of the few days we all had together, and cousins meeting for the first time.
Thank you Black Forest for making it all so possible.
We will see you next year.

Hired 2 houses for our group of 15. The houses are modern clean and well equipped. We had such an awesome time with plenty of fishing to boot.Such a fabulous spot for our yearly get together that we have already booked again. Thank you Caroline and Ben for yr wonderful hospitality.

Beautiful setting! Super nice hosts!!!
The Twizel cottage was basic but clean with all amenities.
Had a lot of dead flies in it, but that’s just the location. Flyscreens would be helpful.

Mobile reception only very slightly in the living room, but works :)

Nice fire place!

We brought our sleeping bags as the linens are for rent.

We had an awesome, peaceful stay.

Hi guys, Many thanks for your great comments! We do have lots of flies/bugs/moths in our environment, so it is a really good idea to shut windows/curtains after dark if you have lights on! Otherwise the place fills up with bugs. Look forward to seeing you again at Black Forest Accommodation.

We stayed in the Boundary House for our company 'Sales Meeting' and had a fantastic stay - the best sales meeting ever! . The houses are great - clean, plenty of room, and everything has been thought of and supplied....even a spare gas bottle for the BBQ. The views are incredible! We did get some work done but spent most of the time on the lake. Benmore is the pick of the lakes in this area as it's much warmer than Tekapo etc and there's plenty of fish. Ben and Caroline are great hosts - supper friendly with quick and clear communication. Would recommend - we will definitely be back!

Fantastic houses with well thought out outdoor areas. Perfect for our small children. The bedrooms had plenty of beds for each family. What a wonderful location on the shore of Lake Benmore. The view of the Southern Alps and Mt Cook was stunning. We couldn't can't wait to go back again!

Every season is different and this couldn't be more so at Black Forest. We holiday through the summer and love every active minute of it, boating, fishing,skiing and more. Then to go back over Queens Birthday and just chill out and soak up the quiet beauty is such a contrast. Thanks Ben and Caroline and see you again soon

Just returned from our regular Queens Birthday weekend stay at Black Forest. The view from the houses are amazing, Lake Benmore and the Southern Alps. It is an idyllic spot, so peaceful. We biked, walked, and fished (hard fishing this year only a few trout and one salmon caught). We did not complete the jigsaw again - another year. House is so warm and spotless. Will look forward to next year.

We had a family reunion down at Black Forest over Queens Birthday. Stayed in the older Lakeside house which satified all our needs. Lovely fire, great scenery, fantastic fishing and fabulous hosts.We would stay there again as it was wonderful. Thanks Caroline and Ben.

Stayed in the older Lakeside house, with a group of 8 people.It was very comfortable, great dining room for a dinner party, fire in lounge if cold,magnificent scenery, fishing, kayaking,walks and Mt Bike rides. Went on to Benmore Dam, stunning! Will go again.
