O for awesome Thanks to Glen for allowing us to share his slice of paradise. To Asnet, Philip and Seth thankyou for taking care of us, be it having the house inside and out cleaned daily to the trip around the island, it didn't seem to be a problem. The wealth of knowledge about the island and people we got from the three of you was invaluable. We were a family of 6 and with the size of the house and property we were able to find our own space and if that wasn't enough there was a deserted white sand beach as far as you could see both ways. The house was equipped with everything you needed if you wanted to do nothing which is what a holiday is all about. The trip into Port Villa, pot holes, left hand drive 4x4 that was provided, and driving on the right hand side of the road helped make the holiday an experience to be shared with others. We would recommend Ripples for a meal either lunch or dinner, both were superb. We found the locals friendly and they were always prepared to offer a wave and a genuine smile when you drove past and were happy to chat if you stopped to give them a lift. We all agreed that we would love to return to Vanuatu and Casa De Mar again.

It was our first trip to Vanuatu, and it was spectacular. Casa de Mar was superb for us with two adults and 4 young children. The location was so secluded and private. The only people we saw on the beach the entire stay was a group of local kids having a Sunday School picnic, and our kids played with them for about 2 hours. It was fab. The snorkelling on the beach at low tide is beautiful. Lots of gorgeous fish in the rock pools and the kids loved it!! The pool and backyard was fantastic and so relaxing - the children spent hours catching hermit crabs and letting them go again. Wendy and Phllip showed them how to lure the crabs with coconuts and paw paw. A wonderful experience with nature. The house is so well equipped for a family with a fully equipped kitchen, BBQ, Dvds (just in case it rains) and a library of holiday reading. It is very spacious so there is always a spot to relax. Phillip, Wendy and asnet were great with the kids, generous with bringing fruit and flowers from their gardens, and it was such a treat to have our washing done everyday. They also gave lots of tips for sight seeing. Speaking of sight seeing, having the ute was invaluable. We explored the island, saw all the tourist spots and discovered some remote spots along the way. We could also duck into town or the supermarket whenever we wished. It was great to be mobile and not have to rely on drivers. Glenn and Edmund were also extremely helpful, and great to correspond with. Seth, our driver to and from the airport was also lovely and gave us a commentary along the way. The other wonderful part about staying at Casa de Mar was Tamanu restaurant and Ripples. We especially loved Tamanu. The staff there were fab, brought colouring sets out to our children as soon as we arrived, and even showed our children the turtle eggs buried on the beach, plus it was just a short stroll up the beach. Ripples food was 10/10. The veal steak is so tender, the curry is delicious and the lobster is perfect. Just not as many kids meal options there, compared to Tamanu. We would highly recommend staying at Casa de Mar. It was great to get off the beaten track and away from the resort and cruise ship crowds, for privacy, relaxation and time together. We truly relaxed, explored, and had a fun time as a family. It was a perfect holiday. Our only regret if that we didn't stay longer....can't wait to go back. Thank you to Glen

This spacious house truly does have everything you need and more. Loved having the expresso machine in a fully equipped kitchen. We stocked up at the supermarket and local fruit/veg markets on our way home each day after sightseeing The staff felt like part of the family they were so helpful in many ways Our family of 7 adults and 2 little children easily fitted into this spacious home away from home. Beautiful large gardens with lots of shade, and we had a bonus of discovering that 2 turtles had been up on our beach front.

Returning to Casa De Mar this year was a much anticipated holiday...Our extended family didn't think last year's stay could possibly be equalled, but it was. The house and surrounds are beautiful and maintained immaculately by the same wonderful staff - Asnet, Wendy and Phillip.

Waking up each morning to the amazing view across from our private beach, swimming and snorkelling in the great rock pools to the right of the property and taking a leisurely stroll along the beach (to the left) toward Tamanu for cocktails and the occasional meal are moments in time indelibly etched in our minds. We are already planning for a return visit next year.

Our daughter, her husband and their two children spent a day with us at the property (they had been staying at LeLagon Resort), and were adamant that for their next visit to Port Vila they would be booking Casa De Mar!

So thank you once again Glen, Asnet, Wendy and Phillip for helping to make our return to your beautiful property so enjoyable.

All going well we shall see you next year.

We would highly recommend a stay at Cara De Mar. The location was excellent. It was nice to be out of town and have our own privacy. The accmommodation was a 'home away from home' and had everything that we needed, and there was more than enough space for the family.

Our experience was enhanced by getting to know the housekeepers and gardener. They are lovely people and we learnt so much about the Ni-Van culture.

We chose to stay at Casa De Mar because we wanted to be a bit out of the main town in Port Vila.
The house was beautiful! right on our very own private beach. Perfect!

The staff were so wonderful. Wendy, Asnet and Philip were very lovely and helpful. They came during the week to do the washing and gardening. Couldn't have chosen a more perfect pace for our stay. We are definitely coming back! Perfect for Families!!

Best family holiday ever
An excellent location, superb facilities - this place had the lot. Friendly staff and an easy drive into town. The house has everything a large family needs. Vanuatu is so laid back and relaxed, the locals are friendly and it was very easy to relax and unwind. We did a couple of great trips, visited Mele Cascades, did some snorkelling on Lelepa Is, swum in the Blue Lagoon - the kids will never forget this holiday and are already looking forward to going back to Vanuatu.

If you are looking for a tropical getaway then look no further. Amazing location with the beach on your doorstep. The house is fully decked out with all the mod cons. All of the bedrooms have air con so sleeping in comfort is no problem. We spent most of the time either in the pool or sitting outside looking out to the amazing view (wine in hand). It is just a short drive to Port Vila and the vehicle was supplied. There are 'house girls' who come in each day and clean and do any washing which is returned to your room folded away neatly, great service. The kitchen is fully stocked with a revolving pantry system which is a brilliant idea, you take food, you leave food. As we got in late we were able to make a platter of food and wash it down with a couple of cold local beers already there, fantastic. We can't wait to go back and take the kids with us...

Really enjoyed Casa (have stayed here several times) and found the stay to be very relaxing. The beds are comfortable, you can hear the ocean as you go to sleep. The house is well appointed and you can BBQ your meals on the Weber or cook them on the gas hob in the kitchen.Everything has been thought of and the kitchen has been provisioned with spices and seasonings for the more adventurous cook. The outdoor area is good too for relaxation and pool nice and cool for a dip. For entertainment there are channels 7,9,10 & the ABC for us Aussies and other channels too including movies and Foxtel sports as well as a good selection of DVD's and books. So buy a nice bottle of French Red at the supermarket along with some organic beef or butcher made sausages and have a gourmet BBQ for dinner sitting outside listening to the sea, its wonderful therapy for the stressed exec or business person and their family or mates. I do not hesitate to recommend this place, I know I will be back.

Absolutely loved our 10 day stay at Casa de Mar. Delightful staff, Asnet, Wendy and Phillip......A gracious home, spotlessly clean (no mean feat in the islands), a 4WD to explore beautiful places, a resort and restaurant within a sling-shot - what more could you ask for. Thoroughly recommend to families (extremely safe, fully fenced), couples and oldies. Will be back next year. Thanks Glen and family for opening your home to us. Steve & Sue

From the moment you step inside this fabulous modern home, you know you are going to have a great time. You will want for nothing, space to relax or share time with others, modern facilities throughout including a great kitchen. Views out to the ocean across the infinity pool, Bar B Q's by the pool in the evenings and a short trip (or walk along the beach) to one of the best restaurants in the South Pacific. How can you not enjoy it. The House staff are excellent, honest and friendly, with that cheeky humour so enjoyed in the Pacific Islands. Slept the sleep of the innocent every night, and awoke to another beautiful day in paradise. Try it you won't be dissapointed, I know, this was my second stay here, and I plan one now take a week off to stay at . Can't recommend it high enough.

The place is huge and right on the beach. House is big enough to find a spot all by yourself if need be or socialise, swim in the pool, walk along the beach or swim in the swim holes.
The maids were fantastic and if you dropped some clothing it was back washed and ironed before you knew it and very pleasant people with it.
Close to town if needed and I loved the walks along the beach or around the neighbourhood.
Would go back anytime.

What a magical place! We had an amazing week staying at Casa de mar and we all want to come back soon. We had perfect weather, (I know that's in the lap of the gods!), and had great fun relaxing at the house and exploring Vanuatu. The staff were great and the kids spent ages playing in the pool and on the beach. We were in Vanuatu for our eldest daughters wedding, (held at Tamanu), and we had many visitors to the house...everyone found it so relaxing. So thank you Glen for the best family holiday we have ever had... we will be back!

A wonderful spot for a Pacific holiday. Glen's house is gorgeous with every amenity you (or your kids) might need. The pool, large grounds and so many comfortable lounging spots around the house and garden made relaxing easy. We had the beautiful beach to ourselves, with a cove for snorkelling and the "swimming hole" for an all-tides dip. The girls looked after us so well and having the 4wd for excursions was very handy. Highly recommended.

Our family had a great 10 days at the villa. The whole set up was perfect for our children, with a safe pool and very helpful and friendly staff. It is a beautiful country and a place we would definitely visit again.

We have just returned from fabulous Cas De Mar and it surpassed our expectations, the house is huge and great location and the fridge and pantry is stocked with all the little things and more that you usually need to buy. The owner Glen is very helpful even organising to exchange some money for us. If you have small children and need a break this is the place for you, the staff are more than happy to entertain your little ones, while you go out for breakfast or want a walk along the beach. We will definitely be returning!

Whitesands Beach Villa was more than we expected - beautiful and spacious for the nine of us. The staff so friendly and helpful. Perfect weather as well. Our two sons, aged 20 and 22 both said " That was THE BEST holiday ever". For a private and quiet holiday, this is the place to stay.

We have just returned from one of the greatest places on earth. Where everyone is friendly and the food is out of this world. The house had everything we needed for a totally relaxing holiday, we loved the idea of the revolving pantry, as this helped out with all the little items we forgot at the supermarket. Aznet, Wendy, Mary, Jake and Alex were all extremely friendly and very helpful, and we were all very sad to say goodbye, especially the children. Glen, the owner, was extremely organised, very helpful and prompt with any questions we might have had. We loved the whole experience and we are already planning our return.
