We stayed at the Garden House for two nights, and found the cottage very welcoming, clean, and with a good supply of linen etc. The log fire and heat pump made it very warm and comfortable. Set in a very private part of the homestead garden, it offers peace and quiet. There is a mix of original and more modern features, which provides a friendly atmosphere. I loved the old original plastered ceilings. Best to be self catering though, as there are no convenient shops nearby.
Christine is a very friendly hostess, only too happy to help with local knowledge and suggestions for places to see.
A great base from which to tour the Catlins or further afield.

A delightful cottage in a fantastic environment, we were made to feel very welcome. This is one of the few properties that we have been back to in NZ!

We stayed at the Garden House for only one night and enjoyed it so much we did not want to leave! The house is so charming and comfortable with beautiful gardens around it and a beach nearby. Thank you, Christine, for making our stay such a wonderful experience! We hope to come back one day!

A lovely, warm house in a beautiful setting, close to the beach. It was bigger than we expected. Every need was catered for and we had an awesome time thanks to Christine's warm hospitality. Thank you.

Fantastic cottage, very wam, welcoming and comfortable, our only regret was that we didn't spend longer there.
