Bookings are not confirmed until your full payment is received. For discounted weekly or extended stay rates, 50% deposits are required to book - for full details and extended stay rates please contact us. Deposits are refundable in full if received at least 4 weeks before your arrival or when we re-let the apartment. We accept credit cards, bank deposits and cash. Cheques from a NZ bank will be accepted.

Welcome to Asphodel on the sunny North Shore!
Our home has double-glazing and window screens to keep the warmth in and the bugs out! All eastern windows have a view of the Hauraki Gulf – and the panoramic view is beautiful. We offer a quality, comfortable, family-friendly, self contained, two bedroom apartment in the lower level of our home.
We have a lovely spa pool, trampoline and Sky TV. We've created a holiday home specifically for families. We have added all the comforts of home and believe cleanliness is of upmost importance for our guests. We've stocked our holiday home with the toys, games, videos and books particularly suited for families.
Dedicated kitchen* with fridge/freezer, microwave, hot plate, electric roaster, rice cooker, wok, kettle and toaster, Easy Cook oven, washing machine/dryer, bathroom, t.v, dvd, dining & lounge setting, & wireless internet (1 gig daily). +Cot for babies.
*Laundry facilities are shared.
All linens are included and we provide a variety of travel-sized items to allow you time to get to the grocery store.
We just ask that you tidy up before you leave -- you do not need to clean -- enjoy your holiday!

| Comments: | We have a lovely spa pool (bring your swimwear), trampoline and Sky TV. We also have numerous toys, games, books and a gamecube for the kids. There is a washer/dryer that you can use, which I find is great when travelling with children. We also have almost anything you might need to borrow to take out to the beaches -- chilly bins (coolers), beach towels, folding chairs, etc. We really market our home for families as we understand what it is like to travel with children. |

“We had the pleasure of staying at the Asphodel holiday home from May 6-12, 2012. Lisa & Rupert went out of their way to ensure our first trip to New Zealand was a great success. Even before we left the U.S., Lisa sent brochures tailored around our interests that helped give us a sense of possibilities for travel around both the North & South Islands.
This hospitality extended throughout our stay as they continued to make helpful suggestions for possible excursions, advice on routes & traffic conditions around Auckland, and provide lots of little touches to make our week comfortable. We especially enjoyed an evening of conversation getting their perspective on emigrating to New Zealand & insights into the culture.
The flat is spacious with great creature comforts (good beds, great shower) & other amenities such as a private hot tub and a large book, game, & DVD collection for all ages & tastes. The kitchen was well equipped to allow for cooking & eating at home. The Asphodel is close to the Westfield mall, which provides plenty of choice for grocery shopping & take-away meals. Having free access to a washer/dryer was also much appreciated – especially given we’re on a round-the-world trip & can’t always count on laundry service. Long Bay marine reserve is a few minutes’ drive away for nature hikes & beach walks.
In addition, Lisa & Rupert provide reliable WiFi as part of the package. Internet connection is increasingly important to travelers, but we’ve found that it’s hard to find in New Zealand, not a standard part of holiday rentals by any means. The Auckland area rentals are generally pricey, but the Asphodel offers reasonable rates with many extra services that others don’t provide. We highly recommend the Asphodel.”
