Enjoy a fabulous family holiday or quiet, relaxing weekend break in our fully equipped holiday home at beautiful Matheson Bay, just one hour north of Auckland and minutes from Leigh and Matakana. The house, on its section of native bush, has stunning views - from Matheson to Tawharanui and across to Little Barrier. There's a deck with full sea views for outdoor eating - watch the tuis and kereru and listen for morepork. The property is 500m above a beautiful beach with safe swimming and a children's playground, and is good for kayaking and fishing. An efficient wood-burning stove keeps it snug upstairs in winter. Downstairs there are heaters and hot water bottles for winter! Local activities include the famous Matakana weekend market, lots of great local vineyards and cafes, some of New Zealand's best snorkelling and diving at Goat Island Marine Reserve, surfing at Pakiri Beach, and walking in Tawharanui Regional Reserve, plus pottery, craft shops, horse riding and golf. We use the house regularly ourselves so it's very well equipped, including all new kitchen appliances, Sky TV, books, games and magazines. Linen available on request at extra charge.

The bedrooms are downstairs off a central hallway and all leading out onto an exterior deck. The main bedroom has an ensuite and a super-king-sized bed, the second bedroom has a king-sized bed. There's a twin room with double-thickness curtains (great for keeping young children asleep in the summer), and a bunk room with two sets of bunks. We can supply linen and towels for an additional $25 per head charge.
