Description
Welcome to Oyster River Bed & Breakfast. Oyster River was named by Captain James Cook when he sailed into Mercury Bay in 1769. The river was formally known as 'Purangi' and that name remains today. We are situated between Cooks Beach, Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach. Breakfast consists of freshly squeezed orange juice, specially prepared homegrown fruits, yoghurt, muesli, delicious jams, coffee and teas. Take a walk around our 13 acres with park like grounds, native bush and mature trees. Observe natural bird life and pick fresh fruit in season. Follow the track down to the Purangi Estuary, a perfect place to launch a kayak. It is peaceful, charming and blissful. Whitianga town can be reached by passenger ferry, a short drive from our B&B. If you prefer to bring your breakfast, our unit is fully self-contained, and there is also a gas barbecue. When it is time for you to leave you will be refreshed, and feeling like you have had an elixir of life!

Queen sized bed, soft furnishings, a pretty room, private and peaceful. Accommodation suits couple/extra adult or single adult. A large separate living area with a nice view of the garden from the kitchen window and your own private entrance. Reading material, a desk and television/dvd/stereo that takes cd's, for your relaxation. We have extensive grounds for you to wander in. There are outdoor sun loungers and chairs and tables for your pleasure, and a beautiful rock encased waterfall. Spring is especially beautiful, with bud burst, and tui's feeding on the cherry blossoms. Enjoy!

“After spending the day visiting Hahei, Cooks Beach and Flaxmill beach we thought we had better find some accommodation for the night. We noticed the Oyster River BnB and thank fully they had a vacancy.
As soon as we drove up the driveway, I felt relaxed, this place is magical! The accommodation is gorgeous, the gardens are beautiful and Sue is absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend staying at Oyster River, you will truly enjoy the experience.
We loved it so much, we may just get married they next year.
