Panoramic, uninterrupted views over Cooks Beach and Mercury Bay provide the perfect excuse to sit back, relax and drink in the vista at Matakitaki, a holiday home designed by award winning architect Ken Crosson of Crosson Clarke Carnachan Architects.
Meaning “observe” in Maori, Matakitaki provides a perfect location to do just that. This 3-bedroom modern home is situated in a coastal and rural setting on 3 hectares of grass and bush facing north and west over Mercury Bay. It provides modern, self catering accommodation for up to 8 people, with plenty of parking for visitors and boat trailers.
There is plenty of good swimming, surfing, diving, fishing, and numerous other water-related activities at nearby Hahei (8 minutes), Hot Water Beach (10 minutes) and Cooks Beach (15 minutes). There are also many great walking tracks nearby. There is a 9 hole golf course 10 minutes away at Purangi Golf Club, and picturesque 18 hole courses at Tairua (25 minutes), Whitianga (30 minutes), and Pauanui (45 minutes).

| Comments: | There are 3 bedrooms, sleeping a total of 8 people. Two have queen size beds, and the third has 2 sets of king size bunks (these can easily sleep adults). The master bedroom has spectacular views over Mercury Bay and the second bedroom has views of the Purangi Estuary. The queen rooms each have wardobe hanging space and side tables. The bunk room has a large set of drawers. |
