Description
The Heaney house at Whangamata is situated on one of the most desirable sites on the main beach. It is a Cape Cod style house just along from the reserve and just beyond the surf club patrolled area. It is right on the beach with spectacular views of the islands, main bay and beach. The house was originally constructed in the 1960s and designed by the then prominent architect, Bob Heaney, as his own beach house. It is one of the few properties left on the beach front that has not been subdivided. The house was refurbished within the last few years but kept in its original Cape Cod style. It has three separate bedrooms as well as a family rumpus room away from the main living area which also has beds. The two principal living areas of the house are divided by the modern laundry and bathroom. The house features decks which are suitable for all weather use and a kitchen with modern appliances including dishwasher. Without doubt this is one of the nicest holiday properties in Whangamata and enjoyed by all who stay there
