Description
This quaint 'original kiwi bach' in Onepoto Village on the edge of the National Park is ideal as a base for the Waikaremoana Great Walk (2 mins to the start/finish), or for exploring this beautiful lake and surrounds. The Onepoto caves are on the doorstep, as are boat ramps and stunning views of Panekiri Bluff and the lake. Many beautiful short and longer walks are close by and fishing, hunting, sailing and water skiing draw many visitors here.
The park headquarters and 'home bay' are 15 minutes drive around the lake so any information you need, and supplies too, are easily accessed.
The bach is tucked away on a native treed section where there is limited wood to be collected for a cosy fire.
Family and friends have enjoyed this bach for many years but we need to share it now to keep it running. Please treat it kindly and leave it as clean and tidy as you find it.
Recent updates (2011) include a new bed, new heaters, new fridge and some new cooking gear.

“Genuine kiwi bach. Cosy and cute. The neighbour had come in and turned on the heater and the hot water before we arrived. Really enjoyed staying there. Owners were very helpful. “
