Description
Taemaro is a 1000 acre property at Taemaro Bay, 25 minute drive from Mangonui. The block has been in the same ownership for over 50 years. During most of this time, no stock have been on the property, resulting in extensive regeneration of native bush and vegetation. It has become a significant habitat for kiwis, other native birds and wildlife. Kiwis can often be heard calling in the evenings from the Lodge. In conjunction with other landowners in the area there is an ongoing pest eradication program, a portion of the property is now protected by QE2 Covenants. Road access over the property allows you to explore and discover many lovely fishing and picnic spots. The Lodge is environmentally friendly with power and hot water derived from solar panels. Water is pumped from a spring in the hills. The Lodge is a typical beach house of log construction. It has a large lounge, dining area with a variety of sofas and divans and large decks to enjoy barbecues and the stunning views. Taemaro is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the North and due to limited access is very private. Great fishing and diving.
