Handily situated overlooking the harbour entrance and the sandhills - a 5 minute downhill walk to a beautiful white sandy beach. Free of traffic noise this comfortable cottage is set on 2 acres. This two bedroom compact cottage is well appointed with the living area area opening onto the deck both front & side. The magnificent views are unrestricted, taking in the Tasman Sea, inner harbour from Omapere, towards Rawene and the Maungataniwha Mountain range. Travel from Auckland up State Highway One to the foot of the Brinderwyn Hills. Turn left onto State Highway 12 to Dargaville, stopping en route at the world famous Matakohe Settlers Museum. Dargaville to Omapere (70 minutes) via the Waipoua Forest. Allow time to stop at Tane Mahuta - the magnificent giant kauri. The area offers swimming, fishing, surf casting, boating, kayaking, sand boarding, horse trekking and some great walks. There are two excellent hotels - the Copthorne at Omapere & the Opononi Hotel and nearby cafes in Waimamaku & Rawene. One hour drive to Kerikeri and one hour and twenty minutes to the Bay of Islands. The ferry from Rawene (20 minutes drive) takes you to the north Hokianga.
