Your private Pohutukawa shoreline paradise. Skuba dive off our point - scallops, pipi, tuatua, Snapper, John Dory, Piper and yellow eyed mullet, many established walking tracks with easy boardwalks to mountain and ridges, beaches to yourself. Airport pick-up extra. Near Whangarei , below craggy peaks of Mt Manaia, this self-contained cottage is in the sub tropical garden of the Mc Kenzie Homestead, settled 1857 by Nova Scotians from St Anns, Cape Breton. Between palms, our old homestead fronts a secluded white, sandy beach and 200 metres of our own shoreline. The cottage is fully furnished and as new - you will sleep in comfort to the sound of the sea and kiwi. Mt Manaia and other magnificent ranges offer many accessed walkways: Smugglers Bay, Peach Cove, Bream Head, Mt Aubrey and Ocean Beach. Sprats, shellfish, boats, canoes and music are part of our lifestyle and well known to visitors from the Western Isles of Scotland and Cape Breton. Gaelic and Spanish spoken. Previously resident in UK, Portugal, Spain and the Caribbean before 38 years in McKenzie Bay we live as crofters in the South Pacific. We welcome you to enjoy the sea for breakfast and share our paradise.
