Description

After travelling through picturesque Mangamingi Valley, Rukumoana Farm Cottage is situated at the northern end of Lake Rotorangi over-looking the lake. The cottage is part of a 1400ha sheep & cattle property.

Lake Rotorangi is 46km long and is popular in summer for waterskiing, wakeboarding and kayaking with warm, calm waters. Two concrete boat ramps are 5 minutes along the road and at the cottage there is plenty of space for parking vehicles and trailers.

The self-catering cottage has been recently redecorated (2008) and new carpets throughout. There are kitchen facilities, CD player, TV, gas BBQ and in winter a cosy woodburner, board games, music and books to entertain. 2 kayaks and fishing rods are available free for guests. The cottage sleeps 7, and is ideal for couples, families or a group of friends.

Other activities nearby include native bush and farm walks, quiet country roads for biking, local public tennis court or visit the predator-proof fenced Lake Rotokare Scenic Reserve. Sample award winning Eltham cheeses, many wonderful gardens to visit in the region, WOMAD etc. The cottage is just 20 minutes from Eltham, 1 hour to New Plymouth, a great base for your holiday.
