Reviews
“What a beautiful place to stay! High quality, warm and comfy beds with electric blankets, well stocked kitchen, great to stay with a group of friends or large family. Lovely, inviting bath, with lots of hot water. Carolyn was so friendly and welcoming. We all want to come back in the spring to check out the gardens in bloom. Chapel a unexpected delight. Would recommend highly.”
“Our most recent stay at the Gardeners Cottage, for Christmas and New Year 2009-2010, was our fifth stay over the last three years.
The Gardeners Cottage is, without question the most homely, friendly and relaxing place we have stayed. Everything that is written above describing the Cottage is true. In actual fact it is even better. As a family wityh two young children, the opportunity to explore the farm and garden is a real thrill.
The spacious manicured gardens surrounding the lake, all next to the Cottage, are something to behold.
We have stayed during early spring as well as Christmas / New Year and each one has left us with lots of happy memories.
The Gardeners Cottage is very special and truly unique. Hosts, Carolyn and Donald, take great pride in making sure every visitor to the Cottage enjoys a relaxing, friendly and memorable stay.
It is definitely the Canterbury region’s best kept secret.”

“As our group of 7 patchwork ladies entered your wonderful well cared for property Carol & Donald we knew we were in for a wonderful relaxing weekend. You welcomed us with the lovely home made baking and the cottage was way about our expectations. It was lovely to sit by the fires and stitch away and the view was magnificant. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cottage and gardens with us. We will definetly be back.”
