Description
Peel Forest Lodge is situated at Peel Forest on the edge of the Rangitata River. It is set amongst podacarp forest where native birds are in abundance. It was built in 1995. It is constructed from Oregan logs which were locally grown. The cabinetry is made from Sycamore which was milled from the property. It has a well equipped kitchen and great outdoor area with bbq. Wireless Internet, Outdoor Spa, Sky TV, games, books and DVD's. The Lodge has a great layout which makes it suitable to families or groups wanting a bit of time away from it all. Privacy is at a premium here. A home away from home, the Lodge is a great place to relax, enjoy some of the walks in Peel Forest park or go White Water Rafting with Rangitata Rafts, kayaking or fishing in the Rangitata River. There is also Chamois, Tahr & Red deer hunting in the area, as well as horse trekking. Only minutes down the road is Flying Kiwis Skydiving. There's a great Cafe/Bar and general store about three kilometers from the Lodge. Geraldine is only 20 minutes drive away where there are some great craft shops and eateries.
