Reviews
“This place is an awesome piece of NZ paradise. Fishing off the wharf especially dusk or dawn almost guarantees a catch. Beautiful walks, lovely beach for swimming, snorkling and kayaking. Beautiful views to soak in from within the house or bath in the sun on the deck – always something to catch your eye. Very unique with the Ferrys going past. Mike & Antonia are fantastic hosts who are generous with whatever the catch of the day might be and they go out of their way to make your stay memorable and relaxing. We have had three wonderful family holidays so far and can’t wait to get down there again for our next stay. “

“We can recommend Gunyah as an excellent family getaway location. 3 families in the 3 houses, we all had a brilliant time. Endless outdoors for the children and time out for us oldies. Evenings on the beautiful Whekanui Bay beach or overlooking the majestic Tory Channel Entrance, we finished our days off with a glass of something good. Hosts Mike and Antonia were fantastic. They go out of their way to make you a true blue Arapawa Islander. Like seafood, love Gunyah. “

“This place is amazing. Mike and Antonia are fantastic hosts and we have been coming here for over ten years. Weather permitting we get a crayfish or two dropped off in the fridge and lovely fresh fish. Big fire on the beach at New Years, lovely walks, feed the eels, swim, snorkel, get paua, fish – this place has it all. Other accomodation if there is a crowd.”
