Description

Bulwer is situated in the sheltered waters of Waihinau Bay at the head of the outer Pelorus Sound in the Marlborough Sounds. The historic homestead at Bulwer is currently being refurbished and will become the centre of operations for a substantial wildlife sanctuary and nature tourism business in the surrounding area. A small bar facility operates by arrangement with the manager. Waihinau Bay is a short boat ride to the Cook Strait. It's a great place to kick back and relax with a number of beautiful walking trails, great fishing, kayaking and wildlife watching. Spectacular sunsets and idyllic scenery complete the picture - a magical place to visit.

We have 3 small baches available to rent. The Bush Inn is well appointed and comfortable for up to 4 people. The Weka has a kingsize bed and en suite but no cooking facilities so it needs to be tied in with the other accommodation. The Tui bach is a smallish bach on the foreshore with a double bed and some bunks. It's true kiwiana but warm and comfortable. The area around the lodge, beach and jetty can be enjoyed by guests. Moorings possible if available at the time.
