A private and cosy home away from home in a residential neighbourhood ten minutes walk from Nelson city centre, Strupak Cottage is ideal for a romantic get-away or for exploring the wider region.
Whilst retaining the original facade from 1866, the cottage has been renovated to provide comfortable and welcoming accommodation that tastefully blends the contemporary with the traditional. Carefully chosen furniture and antiques, original artwork and use of luxurious fabrics adds a touch of sophistication to the homely feel.
The living room has a TV, Freeview and DVD and dining table. The bedroom has a queen bed with quality matress and luxurious linens. To the rear is a well equipped kitchen and sunroom with sofa and dining table overlooking the private garden with all-day sun. The bathroom has a shower over the bath and separate toilet.
The cottage is perfectly situated to explore Nelson. Within 200m is a dairy, post office, greengrocer, Day Spa, and the Sprig and Fern tavern (a tiny pub with old-fashioned hospitality, open fires, boutique beers and board games). Close by is the Maitai River, Founders Heritage Park, Queen's Gardens, Suter Art Gallery and the Centre of New Zealand.

“This bach is wonderful. It is a historic building but has all mod cons. It is in a great location, an easy ten minute walk into town. We loved the cottage and could have happily spent all our time in Nelson in it however, there is much to do in the area to lure you outside. It is only a short drive to the Abel Tasman national park and a stones throw away from many wineries. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to New Zealand. “
