Description
Pittaway’s Cottage is one of Arrowtown’s oldest stone cottages, refurbished to provide delightful guest accommodation. In Arrowtown’s tree-lined Buckingham Street, it has New Zealand Historic Places Trust classification. The cottage garden has oak, walnut, and hazelnut trees – some planted by the original owners in 1875. Beautiful roses and cottage flowers add summer colour.
While small in size, the cottage is big on ambience. Old photos and historic information are complemented by the vivid colour of fabric artist Leslie Duggan’s paintings. The cosy sitting room features plush leather, a wood burning fire, games, SKY TV, DVD, and a well-stocked book shelf.
Outside there's a barbeque area, plus the cottage verandah to sit and relax, and absorb the history and tranquillity of the location.
The owners live on site, and can help with local information, baby-sit, or provision the cottage if required. Laundry facilities and a freezer are shared use.
A separate self-contained studio is at the rear of the property overlooking the garden - a queen bedsit with kitchen, sofa, table & chairs, TV/DVD, heatpump, and ensuite shower room. Outside furniture and exclusive use barbecue in a lovely garden setting.

Cottage - Queen plus twin room - a rollaway can be added to each room. The twin beds can be made up as a king for stays of three or more nights.

All linen is 100% cotton - where possible is line dried in the fresh Central Otago air.
