Lake Ohau Village is a quiet alpine retreat 17 kms off the main road, midway between Twizel and Omarama. Magnificent views across Lake Ohau to snow-capped mountains from living area, bedrooms, veranda and sunporch. A three minute walk from the veranda down through McKinnon Reserve to the lakeside. Just 5 kms from the Lake Ohau ski-field road, with views to ski-field/chair-lift from the living area. Warm sunny house captures an alpine feel with external cedar cladding and macracapa ceilings in living and bedroom areas. Electric nightstore heating in entrance area, plus log fire (wetback) in living area. Fire wood supplied. Internal access garage parking for a low vehicle. Almost flat access from street, with lots of parking space for the boat and car.
Ski-ing, fishing, tramping, hunting, mountain biking, canoeing, rowing, gliding are at your backdoor here. (Local salmon farms can always guarantee a good catch!) You are invited to relax, restore the soul and soak up the spectacular scenery from the veranda! This is one of New Zealand's best kept secret places!
