Description
Omarama is the gliding capital of the world. During summer there are two gliding schools operating with tourist flights also available. The mountain thermals are superb with many flights soaring over Mount cook. Fly fishing guides are available and rivers abound with trout. The scenery and mountain tramping is endless and beautiful beyond words. The town of Omarama has five to six restaurants operating in summer, hot pools all year round with ski fields nearby. Lake Benmore is renowned as a fishing boating and water skiing playground and is ten minutes from the town. The Alpine village of Ohau and Mt Cook are just a short drive away. Twizel is close by and during rowing regattas Omarama is the closest accommodation outside Twizel for rowers and families stay in town. War Birds Over Wanaka is easily accessed from Omarama and booking for accommodation for this are often made two years in advance. The town has great shops including an antique, rare books and collectable shop- Totara Peak Gallery- this also houses the Xena Museum. From our accommodation everything is a short walk- airport, restaurants, shops, hot pools and river. You may never want to leave!

Two bedroom chalet with huge section and covered patio facing north with spectacular mountain views. a Queen size room and a twin room. Small kitchen and comfortable lounge and dining. Right in town with private section. Separate two studio units on another section with lovely private outdoor verandah. Studio units share a bathroom and have a double bed in each unit. TV in Studios and two in Chalet.
