Mill Cottage is situated in the Ross Township 20 minutes south of Hokitika.It is an ideal place to base your West Coast Holiday as it an easy drive to the Glaciers and nearby Lake Mahinapua which is a 10 minute drive. Ross has many attractions for you to enjoy The Goldfields Walkway which takes about 1 hour at a leasurley pace meanders through old gold workings an one of the old cemeteries. At the Ross Information Centre you can pan for gold or hire a pan and pan for your own in Jones Creek. At Jade Art you can see Steve create beautiful Nephrite Jade (pounamu) creations. Ross has 2 hotels,Cafe,Local Store, Squash Court, Covered Swimming Pool (keys maybe hired). The Ross Beach is 1km away as is the Totara River. The Totara Lagoon is a great place for a kayak and the Totara Valley road makes a good mountain bike ride while Mt Greenland is a great day walk which provides commanding views in all directions. There is a set whitebait net and screen which may be used in the whitebait season (1st September till 14th November) and two whitebaiting rivers close by.
